A safer, more thoughtful experience

Privacy, rules
& safety.

NIVA is designed to help people create personal digital gifts. This page explains sensible privacy expectations, safe use and the rules we intend users to follow.

Important: This is a starter policy page for the current NIVA project, not legal advice or a claim that every operational policy is already implemented. Before public launch, update it with the real business contact, retention/deletion process, hosting details, payment provider and legally reviewed terms.
01 · Privacy

Privacy comes first

Personal gifts may contain names, messages, photos, videos and important dates. Only add information that you have a right to use and that the recipient would reasonably expect to receive.

02 · Personal content

Your photos, words and memories

You remain responsible for the content you submit and must have permission to use it. Do not upload content that violates another person's privacy, copyright or other rights.

Before launch, NIVA must clearly publish what information is stored, where it is stored, how long it is retained, how a user can request deletion, and how backups are handled. Do not assume that closing a browser or deleting a local draft deletes a published gift from the server.

03 · Security

Security and private gift links

The current project includes browser-side encryption for the gift content and a password gate on the recipient page. Encryption does not make a link invulnerable: protect your password, use an up-to-date device and avoid opening private gifts on shared devices.

Transparency: the final production service should document what metadata the server can access, how encryption keys are handled, and which service providers process data. Do not promise that nobody can ever access data until the deployed system and its operations have been independently checked.

05 · Safety

Make the surprise safe and welcome

A thoughtful gift should make someone feel respected. Avoid content that could put a person at risk, reveal their location, pressure them to respond, or expose a private relationship or personal circumstance.

06 · Your choices

Your choices and future updates

Users should be able to understand what they submit and how to request access, correction or deletion where applicable. The final version of this page should include a working support email, the legal business identity, an effective date, an update history, retention details, and any applicable consumer or privacy rights.

For now, this page is informational and does not itself create a support channel or automated deletion feature. Those must be connected and tested before public launch.
